In our house we watch a whole love of Nick Jr thanks to Tink and Belle. This week is "Shark Week" on the discovery channel though and our girls LOVE watching the "fish." It is so nice to be able to watch something other than cartoons, even if it is just for one week. Don't get me wrong, I love that Nick Jr is so educational and I even sing along with Papa Moco Jumbie when it comes on. But some of the shows are just annoying. Let's talk about Max and Ruby for a second. Where the hell are their parents?! Ruby is probably something like 6 years old and she is always alone taking care of Max (who is probably 3 or something). If that were real life CPS would have come to their house a long time ago.
We do get to watch baseball from time to time too. Tink and Belle will grow up to be women who love sports. Football, baseball, basketball...they'll be able to wow all the men they meet with their ability to talk turkey when it comes to sports. That will make me one proud mama because I love sports and the girls who play dumb or act like they know what they are talking about when they really don't annoy the heck out of me.
I better get back to actually doing some work. Hopefully I will get to talk to another clueless couple and then I'll have more to write later.
